The Chaopraya Wittayakom School from Bangkok won the right to defend the NFL Flag Football World Championship won by its compatriots in Beijing last year with a 32-13 semi final win over Spain.
Natthawut Khambuakhot put Thailand into an early 7-0 lead, then an interception and touchdown by Wutthikrai Kanjanasit opened up a 13-point advantage.
The Thai’s were 19-7 at halftime and another catch in the end zone by Kanjanasit increased the advantage to an unassailable 25-7. The Pere Vives Vich team from Igualada hit back though an Albert Queralto reception for six points, but there were to be no comeback heroics as Thailand ended the game with another touchdown and an opportunity to defend the world title.
